I have made another little mini album for some friends that we see once or twice a year when they come and stay in a caravan just down the coast from us.

This was such a fun project to do and I am happy to say they loved it!.

A couple of layouts to share as well. The first one was using palette #81 over at The Color Room.

This one is using a sketch by Stacey Lokovic over at Inspired to Scrap. I so loved this sketch and it was perfect to scrap the fantastic photo my Hubby took of the Otters down the river.

Bad Blogger!!

Sorry to say I have been a very bad blogger of late. No excuse really just busy doing other things. To be honest the weeks go by so fast I don’t realize how long it is since I last blogged.

Anyhow I would like to share with you a layout I did for my challenge over at Inspired to Scrap which is to ‘Scrap the Scrapper’. So many of us scrap our children and Grandchildren, families in general but forget to scrap ourselves. Lets face it I am sure or children will want to see pages of Mum and read all about her.

This is me when I was about 10, It would have been my last year at junior school.

Next I wanted to share a mini book I made as a present for my DIL and also for a mini album class we have running at Inspired to Scrap. Sorry very picture heavy!

I have been working on yet another mini and I will share this as soon as I have taken some photos of it.

I have managed to do a little scrapping that I can share with you. Firstly I have been looking at The Color Room and I thought that palette #77 was worth having a go at. Loved the mustard with the burgundy, grey and white. Not colours I would have thought about at first but decided to have ago anyway and I love how it turned out.

Back in August I was going to do one of Sandie’s workshops she was holding at Paper Arts and unfortunately this had to be re-scheduled to September and I wasn’t able to attend, but I did get the kits and had a play with them at the weekend. Love how they turned out…so thank you Sandie for two great classes!

Bad Blogger!

It seems ages since I blogged but goodness only knows where the time has gone. I have been working on a mini album for my DT work and it hasn’t been going to plan. Don’t you just hate it when that happens.

Anyway I think I am getting to grips with it now!!!

I have more layouts to share with you from Stacey’s August class using 6x4 photos. This was very different for me as I don’t normally scrap multi photos that size. Bit it was great to do something different.

The new class for November is now up and we are doing Fast,Flat and fabulous for those that don’t like bumpy layouts.

Classes for January will be sketches again. Hope you can come over and join us!

I can’t believe it is September already I think I am still waiting for summer to start, although today is gorgeous lovely blue skies and sunshine.

Today is also the start of my DT term with Inspired to Scrap. I am so excited about this and there is lots going on.

Firstly all the new challenges for the month are going up and also Stacey has posted the new classes that will be taking place soon.

I am very excited to announce the new class line-up! Are you ready???

Sept.19-Oct. 2-“Get MORE for your Mini” Be prepared for two weeks of mini album fun! The design team will present several types of mini albums along with tips and techniques. Be prepared to work along with us and finish some cute little books! These make excellent GIFTS (think Christmas!), table toppers and all around little albums. Even if you don’t enjoy creating mini albums, you are welcome to adapt the ideas to full-sized layouts (or you might even change your mind. ) There will be a class PDF sent out after class ends with all of the information presented. Cost- $8

Getting Inspired!

The past few months I have been spending alot of time over at Inspired to Scrap aand I have been having fun doing the challenges and interacting on a very friendly forum.

AS well as this Stacey does some great classes and you can find out all about them HERE. I am doing the August ones at the moment and really enjoying doing something different for me.

Anyway some of the challenges I have done are Carol’s Gridlock one which I just LOVED.

Stacey’s Old & New and I used some new (for me) Echo Park For the Record and some really old foam alphabets I have had for years. They started off white and I wanted to chage them to black and had a right palava doing it as I first tried it with inks Yuk!! got very inky and they wouldn’t dry, so I then decided to paint them and then hurrying up the process used my heat gun and melted them to some plastic sheet I had tem on. What a wally…anyway I got them done in the end.lol!!

Make Rosettes or pinwheels was Kate’s challenge and I Love making rosettes so I had ago at this one.

The last one I have to share with you today was another of Carol’s and it was use a song title.

So all in all I have really enjoyed these challenges and there are still more to do as well as more class layouts.

I am feeling a little more upbeat this week regarding my scrapping. Mind you I awoke with a screaming headache this morning that is now getting a little better. I have taken strong painkillers but I think they make me feel worse than the headache. So I thought I would distract myself and update my blog.

The first layout I did this week was one of Sandie’s classes she designed for Sparkle Dreams. I really loved the layout but wasn’t able to attend the class so I used my own stash and had ago.

I have also completed several challenges over at Inspired to Scrap They have new challenges each month so I love to play along.

The first one is Carol’s Monochromatic challenge and chose to do one of my fav colours Aqua.

Another challenge was Janie’s alter it challenge and I didn’t really have much I could alter but decided to do an altered CD.

Angie’s colour challenge really fitted in with my new Quirky Kit from Crafty Templates using some lovely Sassafras sunshine broadcast papers.

A part from the challenges Carol organized a layout tag which was great fun to do. Carol sent one her layouts to a member of the forum who scrap-lifted it and that got sent to the next person on the list who scrap-lifted that one (get the picture) and so on. It was great fun to see how they all evolved from the first layout. this is my tag layout using some of my July kit from Sarah’s Cards

Lastly I used some gorgeous American Crafts Campy Trails papers I got from Sarah’s Cards and did this layout of my Grandson playing about on his bike down in the New Forest last summer.

Stuck in a rut!!

Well the mojo seems to come and go and I have managed a few layouts with the June kit from Sarah’s Cards for this month it is the lovely Cosmo Cricket Social club papers and some fab embellishment to co-ordinate with them.

It was great for doing some masculine layouts and perfect for some of photos of my Grandsons.

The first one is my eldest GS back in 1998 when he was playing out in the back garden. I love this photo of him and have wanted to scrap it for a while.

The next layout is my DS’s lad and this was taken when they were on a very wet holiday in the Lake District.

This one is my DS and GS striking a pose (not unusual for these two) while enjoying a drink outside a pub in the New Forest.

Now I say I am in a rut because when I look at my layouts recently they all kind of look the same to me!!!! I really need to do something different but not sure what though.

I have my July kit from Sarah’s Cards sitting waiting for me to use. The papers this time are Pebbles Happy Go Lucky and are much more girly. So I think I need to go through my photos and see if I can get inspired to do something a little different with these papers.

Where do mojo’s go??

I guess it happens to us all at some time or another but mine seems to have deserted me at the moment.

I do have a couple of layouts to share before it got up and went lol!!!

The first one is my first real attempt at misting. I have to say the process frightens me somewhat as I am scared I will really ruin what I am doing. But nevertheless I had to have ago and I was so pleased how it turned out. So if you haven’t tried it yet be brave and do it!!

Anyway this was for a challenge over at Inspired to Scrap and we had to create our own background paper. So this is what I did.

The photo is me back in 1962 when I was 18.

Now this other layout involved some more misting and again I really enjoyed doing it.

It is a layout class that Sandie taught at her Spring Workshop and I wasn’t able to attend so she sent me a kit with instructions and away I went.

I think I may be doing more misting on my projects in future as long as my mojo comes back!

Vertigo!

I had an attack of vertigo last week and I really didn’t like it at all. I ended up going to the doctors to get some tablets which soon sorted me out. Not sure why I had this but glad to say it’s gone now.

At the time I really didn’t feel like scrapping at all. But I have now righted that and have a few layouts to share with you.

The first one using my May Sarah’s Cards kit which is full of gorgeous MME Stella & Rose Mabel papers and fabulous embellies. I did one of the challenges over at Inspired to Scrap Forum and it was to do your journaling in strips. This was easy for me as I love doing my journaling like this. Photo is me in the middle of my Daughter Sandie and our friend Di at a class at Paper Arts that Sandie taught.

Another challenge was to tie your buttons on your layout, so I used some of my Quirky Kit from Crafty Templates and even tried some misting on this page!

For my next layout I visited the The Color Room and as the title suggests you work to a colour palette and the latest one is shades of orange and I thought this was a really hard palette to work with. The papers from my kit were perfect though and I am really pleased to how it turned out. Photo is of my SIL & BIL’s Wedding day back in the early 60’s.

Now before I go I must just share this little Ballerina Bear that I knitted for the lovely Granddaughter Hannah.

Well I have been so busy scrapping lately with little time to blog but I am going to make up for it now and show you what I have been doing.
I have joined a lovely message board over at Inspired to Scrap and they have been running an online crop. So I have joined in with lots of the challenges and I have had great fun.
Carol’s challenge was ‘Mother Day’ so I thought I would re-scrap a photo of my Mum when she was a bout 27 years old.
Sarah’s challenge was patterned paper only and as I nearly always used cardstock for my base this was a challenge for me. lol! Note my patterned paper background was quite neutral

The next challenge I had ago at was Angie’s Recipe challenge and scrapped this great photo of Grandson Jack. I will let you into a little secret here….I used the free papers in the Scrapbook Magazine for this layout as they suited the photo so well.
Von’s challenge was ‘Make 2’ and this was to make a couple of cards using your scraps from the layouts you made.
Now apart from all the crop challenges there are the Monthly challenges too and I have been doing a few of these as well.
Stacey’s a bit of sunshine challenge was to use yellow or orange as your main colour. I managed to use both.
There are two more challenges I took part in , Von’s think outside the box…do something other than your usual 12x12 and Angie’s Multi photo layout. So I did a 6x12 for Von’ challenge. I haven’t done one this size in ages so I enjoyed doing it. For some reason Windows live writer won’t let me upload this picture Argh!!! But Will let me do my multi photo layout.
Well I think I am pretty scrapped out for a while and I am going to have a bit of a break over the weekend and do some more knitting and sorting out of my craft stash.

Layouts and Mini book!

Well this week I have been busy with paper and glue and have managed 2 layouts and have finished my little mini book.

The weather seems to have taken a turn for the worst with lots of clouds, rain and cold winds. So ideal for crafting.

For this layout I have used my April kit from Sarah’s Cards This months kit features some fabulous Echo Park For the Record papers.

I just love these photos of my lovely Granddaughter .

This next layout I have created for a challenge over at Inspired to Scrap. The challenge being ‘Embrace the Negative’. I love doing layouts with negative space so I had to have ago at this one.

On to my little mini book. I have kind of condensed the photos a little on this as they would have gone on for ever. lol!!!

Well I guess that’s it for now. I am off to see what other challenges are on Inspired to Scrap. They are having an online crop from the tomorrow so I am hoping to take part in that.

Sorry it’s been so long!

I guess I am not a natural blogger and can easily forget to blog. Mind you I have been away so I guess that doesn’t help.

We went back to the Cotswolds to stay with Hubby’s sister and BIL and we were able to catch up with most of the rest of the family too. We always enjoy staying with Christine and Cyril, they always make us so welcome and have to say Basil (dog) loves it there too.

We also spent a really lovely day with DD Sandie , Rich and Hannah. We had a really nice lunch out with them. It was so nice to catch up.

On the Wednesday I was able to go to class Sandie was teaching at Paper Arts and to catch up with Di. We had a fab day and I just loved the layout we created.

The photos I used are off Christine & Cyril on their wedding day back in 1955. The papers were just perfect for my pics.

I do have one more layout to share and I did this one before I went away as I wanted to try out my new MS large daisy fan punch. Isn’t it great?

I am sure I will use this loads. The papers I used for this are from March Scrapagogo kit. I treated myself to a one off and I am at present making a mini album with the rest of it. I will be back later to share with you.

Prima Build a Book

You may remember I was lucky enough to win a lovely little blog giveaway from Tracie the other week

I thought I would so you what I made with it.

It was a lovely little acetate heart shaped Prima build a book with some lovely Sassafras papers, stickers etc. I added some extra chipboard pages and used some old photos of my DS back in 1968/69 taken while on holiday in Weymouth and Weston-Super-Mare.

I had such fun making this so beware lots of photos coming up. lol!!

This was the first time I had worked with an acetate book and I do have a couple of Rusty Pickle ones in my cupboard and this has given me the confidence and inspiration to use them now. So thank you Tracie. :)

A little variety!

I have been doing a mixture of crafts these last couple of weeks and I have really been enjoying myself.

Firstly I have made a little mini book using my March kit from Sarah’s Cards. I have made a little recipe book with some of my favourite recipes in. It didn’t end up how it started though. I really didn’t like what I was doing so ripped it all apart and started again as I didn’t want to waste the papers. Still not really happy with it but it is better than it was.

Also I was one of the lucky winners of some fabulous blog candy over Tracie Hudsons Blog and it arrived this morning….so happy post today!

I have even managed to do a layout this week as well. I have been watching some videos of Nichol Magouirk so took some inspiration from her and did this layout about a working mill we have in the village.

I love the way she uses strips of coordinating papers and builds up her layouts. Anyway it was something different to try.

Now if you want a good giggle then take a look at my next pictures. I have been knitting again after many years and have so far made these little critters. The little doll was a free kit with a knitting magazine and the cat was a pattern from the mag. The little bear is from a book of knitted bears…..so this one is Nanny knitting. lol!!!

Ah well I have had some fun. I am now waiting for a beginners guide to crochet book to arrive so I can have ago at that as well. Not sure how long this will last but it does keep me amused.

It's been a while!

I didn't realize how long it had been since I last blogged. I am not sure where the time goes these days. The old saying 'the older you get the faster it goes' really is true.

I can't say I have done much in the way of scrapping either just one layout to share. This is my attempt at the latest sketch over at Sarah's Cards blog . The DT have done some great examples well worth a look!

I had a bit of fun doing a little 6x6 canvas. I was inspired by a Hels Sheridan article in the April edition of Craft Stamper. Mine is nothing as good as hers. I think it looks to clean and pretty lol!! I think I should have grunged it up a bit but I am not good at doing that. Still it was fun to do. I have used colours that match my craft area so I will get to hanging it on the wall at some point.

Other than that I have made a card but only because I bought a couple of new Marianne dies and wanted to try them out.

The leaf swirl is lovely as is the little stencil flower that also comes with a leaf as well. I think they will be very useful.

I have the March kit now from Sarah's Cards it is really bright and cheerful with papers from October Afternoons Homemaker range. I must admit I haven't done anything with it yet.

I do feel sometimes that I pressurize myself to get on and use my kit but have now convinced myself that I don't have to use it all up within a week of getting it. lol!! So I am taking it a bit slower.After all I have a whole month before I get the next one!!

I have been doing something else a little different as well and I have been creating with two needles and some wool. I haven't knitted for years but something made me want to have another crack at it. So watch this space to see what I am creating. It is nice to do something else other than paper and glue. That doesn't mean I will give up on my scrapping. Oh no I love it too much but I do feel I need other things in my life as well.

A couple more layouts to share.

I can't say I have been doing much craftywise lately but I have been making the most of the beautiful sunshine we have been having and going out walking with Hubby and our dog Basil. I figure there is time enough to scrap when the rain comes again as it surely will.lol!

This layout is my fourth with Sarah's cards feb kit and completely different to the other three. With all the walking we've been doing we couldn't help but notice the amount of catkins on the trees, more this year than I have seen for along time. So I thought I would record this with a layout.

My other layout is of my lovely DD Sandie on her 6th Birthday looking very pleased with herself. I did this one for a DT call over at Pencil Lines using the sketch they provided. I had already done a layout with this sketch with the jan kit as it is in the lovely Pencil Lines Sketch Book but was more than happy to do another one.

I know that Anna had nearly three hundred submissions for her design team so I don't hold out much hope for me but it was fun doing the layout anyway.

It's begining to look like spring!

Yes the sunis shining here in West Wales and has been the last couple of days. Bulbs are starting to flower and it's begining to look very spring like......bet it doesn't last though. But we have to make the most of it while it's here and hubby nad I have been going for nice walks swith our little pooch Basil.

In between I have been scrapping and have three layouts to share that I have made iwth the Feb kit from Sarah's Cards. I think I may have mentioned I wasn't too sure about this kit but I think I have got the measure of it now.

This is my SIL & BIL on there Wedding day back in 1955.

Photo is hubby's other sister we think back in 1945 or there abouts. It's so difficult to date old photos.

This one is me and I think I would have been about 18months so would have been taken in the middle of 1945.

I still have loads of paper left and will try and make at least one more layout and maybe some cards with the scraps. So watch this space.

I haven't done much in the way of scrapping but I did manage to make some cards. So I thought I would share them with you.

I recieved my February kit from Sarah's Cards yesterday and I have to say I am not sure what I am going to do with it. It's a beautiful kit very vintage styled papers so they do need just the right photos. I think I may have them now just need to mull on it a little longer and then we will see how it turns out. So watch this space.

Well I hope you have had a good weekend. It still very cold here and I think we are in for yet more rain. Just the right weather for scrapping don't you think?

Four layouts +

Yes that right I have managed four layouts plus 5 cards with the Jan kit from Sarah's Cards so in my book that has to be great value for money. Mind you I really, really loved this kit and I do think that helps.

As I said I also made 5 cards which is quite an acheivement for me as I really find it quite difficult to make them these days but I have been getting inspiration from Kristina Werner. If you haven't already found her blog you should have a look.

Sorry about the quality of some of the pics but the light here is pretty dismal at the moment and I don't think it's going to get much better in the next few days either.

Well not much else happening here at the moment except maybe a bit more tidying to be done. I have a couple more weeks to wait for my next kit lets hope it inspires me as much as this one did.

Getting there!

Well I have been sorting out my craft room. Re-organised my big cupboard and sorted out my papers......omg I am never doing that again. What a nightmare , I ended up with backache and a headache and a horrendous mess all over the floor that I thought I would never get straight again. But I managed it and it all look very neat and tidy now.

I do have some layouts to share as I have managed to scrap as well. The first one was sketch#3 of the big contest over at MCS . Sadley I didn't win anything but it was fun taking part. There is some seriously great talent on this forum and it is worth taking a trip through the galleries over there and you will see what i mean.

While tidying my big cupboard I came across a kit that Sandie gave me. It was one that she taught at the last Scrapping Angels Retreat back last year. Unfortuately I could go so this was the next best thing so I thought it was about time I tackled it. Its a great kit and I really enjoyed doing it and it got my mojo up and running again.

Back over at MCS the January sketch challenge is running at the moment and it is a lovely sketch by Julie Bonner so I have had to have ago at this as I really love the sketch, anyway this is what I did with it using some great photos og my lovely Granddaughter when she was about two.

I have scrapped one of these before but they are so gorgeous they deserve to be scrapped again.

I received my January kit yesterday from Sarah's Cards and I have to say I think it my favourite kit so far. I am looking forward to scrapping with it and must look out some photos so I can get going with it.

Struggling!!

Yes I am struggling with my creativity. I really want to scrap and produce something stunning but somehow it doesn't really happen. I have done another layout with my Sarah's Cards December kit and even managed a card too but I can't seem to get excited about it.

I have also created a layout for the December sketch challenge over at MCS just managed to do this in time. Hubby took this photo on Boxing Day and I love it so really wanted to scrap it.

Forgot to take a photo of the card I made but will do it for next time. I really need to get myself more upbeat. I think it could be this horrible grey wet weather we are getting at the moment. I so long for some lovely sunny days that seem to give us all a lift.

I haven't really felt like doing much scrapping feeling a bit mojoless at the moment but I did manage to do the sketch challenge over at Sarah's Cards blog I really don't think it's my best but it is the best this year.lol!!!

Well I hope you are all more inspired than me. I think I will sort out my stash again and maybe that will give me some inspiration.

I can't believe we are nearly at the start of 2011. I can always remember my Mother saying that the older you get the faster time goes and boy was she right. Now at the grand old age of 67 I look back and wonder where my life has gone but there is nothing we can do about it but we glad that another day has dawned. lol!!

I hope you all had a good time at Christmas and I hope that the New Year will be good for you. I am not making any resolutions as they only ever last a short time....a week at the best. But I will try to be more healthy and to keep myself busy.

I have been making myself a calendar thanks to Jacque who kindly sent me a PDF file with the months for 2011 on to print out. Jacque did hers on a 81/2 x 11 but I did mine on A4 card and it worked perfectly. I am sure Jacque would be happy to send it to you too if you click on the link here

I had so much fun making this. Some of the photos are a bit blurred but I think you get the idea. Well that's it for now.

Bad Blogger!

Yes I know I am a bad blogger but haven't really had too much to blag about recently. I haven't done much in the way of scrapping only managing one layout and that was for the contest over at MCS this one is for the Big sketch contest #2 which has now finished and the new sketch is up for #3

I have made a couple of gift boxes for friends Christmas presents and quite enjoyed doing it too!

We have had some snow the last couple of days. Not as bad as some have had it but enough that we didn't get any mail for three days, but thankfully today we had some and things that I had been waiting for finally arrived. Along with them came my December kit from Sarah's Cards so maybe now I will get inspired to do some more scrapping.

I will leave you with a couple of snowy pics although I daresay you are all fed up with it by now.

More kit layouts!

I have been working with my kit from Sarah's Cards and I have managed to do three more layouts. So that is four in all and I still have some bits that I can make some card with. Have to say I am really pleased with this months kit with the lovely WRMK Maple grove papers. Perfect for all the autumn photos hubby has taken for me. I just love this picture of a squirrel eating an acorn. He posed perfectly for his photo shoot. lol!

This photo is looking up the river Teiffi towards Cilgerrin and I thought how cold and bleak it looks these days. So different to the lovely warm sunny summer days when we see it.

This last layout is based on Kirsty's Wednesday Night Crop sketch. I had to do it from memory as I hadn't printed off the sketch and I picked up a virus on my laptop so it had to go to the repair shop.

I am not sure if you have come across this virus but it trys to make you buy fake virus protection when in fact what they want is you CC number so they can get into your account etc. I picked mine up on Facebook somehow. I think I must have clicked on something bogus. Hubby had the same problem when he clicked on a video on Flickr. It just makes me so mad to think these people are out the trying to hoodwink us.

Anyway enough of my rant lol!!! Hope you aren't the ones with loads of snow. We are lucky here so far just very heavy frost. Just the sort of weather for snuggling up in front of the fire and comfort eating.

If I am honest I have been a bit in the doldrums the last couple of weeks. Up until yesterday I had only managed to do one layout and even that was a struggle. So I just left it all alone and spent the time tidying up my stash and re-arranging my storage.

But yesterday the postman delivered my kit from Sarahs Cards and suddenly I was inspired again. I have been getting Hubby to take some nice autumnal pics for me and this kit is just perfect for scrapping them.

On Sarah's blog there is a sketch challenge so I thought to kick start myself into action I would have ago at this and this is what I came up with.

As I mentioned the only other layout I have done is one of Hubby and his friend back in 1955 playing in the garden. It's such a fab photo and we got it when Hubby's friend came on a visit from Florida where he now lives.

Well hopfully I will get some more scrapping done this week with my gorgeous kit and more Autumnal pics I have.

Contest & Challenges!

Well I have been doing a few of these of late as the weather here has been dull, grey and pretty wet most days so I thought it was a great time to get some scrapping done.

Also I received a fabulous kit from the lovely Kirsty. This was my prize from a random draw after one of her Wednesday night cyber crops. I am so annoyed with myself as I didn't take a photo of it before I cut into it to make this layout.

There was some gorgeous SEI Lovebird papers and lots of fabby embellishments that matched perfectly. Thanks Kirsty.

Now I think I have already mentioned the big contest over at MCS it is a three month contest with a new sketch each month and some wonderful prizes to me won. If you enter all three your name goes in the hat to win a mega prize too. So worth having ago and there is still time to do the October sketch...so what are you waiting for. This is my layout for the October sketch.

Now as well as this Sandie is doing a handmade flower challenge at MCS and I enjoyed doing this one too.

I made some fabric & ribbon flowers for this and they turned out better than I thought they would. lol! Now the other challenge they are running at the moment is Gabi's challenge to scrap yourself something that alot of scrappers don't do.

So as you can see I have been rather busy but not content with that I have also taken part in Kirsty's wednesday cyber crop as well and this is my layouts from the last two wednesdays.

I have to say I feel pretty scrapped out at the moment and I am trying to re-sort all my stash again. I feel it could do with being better organised and maybe I will come across some stash I have forgotten about and inspire me to scrap some more.

My goodness it's been so long!

I really didn't realise it has been so long since I blogged. Not sure why really it's not as if I have been away or really busy. Well I am here now with a few things to share

Firstly I finished the Paper Bag Book I've been making for our friends in Florida. They came and stayed with us August Bank Holiday weekend and we took lots of photos so I thought a little book as a reminder of their visit would be good.

I kept it pretty simple and light as the shipping to the states is pretty costly these days. But it's on its way now and should be with them soon. Hope they like it.

As well as this I have done a couple of Kirsty's Wednesday night crops as I love taking part and seeing what everyone else does with the sketch. Firstly it's this sketch.

The following week its was Emma Joyner who provided the sketch for us to work with and I have to say I didn't do it on the wednesday but I did do it later in the week.

Well that's it for now I am off out into the sunshine again for a walk with the dog. Have to make the most of it while it's here it could be raining again tomorrow.

It's been a while!

But I have been away staying with family and the main purpose of the visit was that I could attend Sandie's Autumn Workshop at The North Swindon Craft Club. What a fabulous day it was and thank you Sandie for all your hard work.

We created a layout using Nikki Sivils Sweet Cherry Pie papers and I have to say I doubt if I would ever have bought these papers BUT I just love how we used them and the way the layout came out.

We also made a fabulous little mini book using BoBunny papers and I just love this and I will be making another of these that's for sure!!

It's not easy to photograph but I think you get the idea! Here is a couple more photos of the day.

Also while I was away Kirsty did her usual Wednesday Night Cyber Crop so I was unable to take part but I did catch up last wednesday when I came home.

This is the layout I did for the 6th October and the sketch for it as well.

Now if I am honest I wasn't too sure about this sketch but I love how my layout turned out. It's the visit we had from Hubby's friend that he hadn't seen for over 30 years so I thought it was lovely to scrap it and keep the memory fresh.

The previous week was a sketch I loved and I really wanted to use it so set about doing it to keep me up to date with the cyber crop. Really love the Jillybean papers I used for this and I am pleased with the outcome.

The last few days we have had one of Hubby's old friends to stay. They hadn't seen each other for nearly thirty years. So it was really nice for them to spend time together reminiscing old times when they were at school and also the time they spent car rallying together.

This said it did mean I couldn't do much in the way of scrapping but I did manage a couple of layouts before the visit. lol!!

This one was for a Scrap your pet challenge over at My Creative Scrapbook and as I don't need much encouragement to scrap my little dog Basil I had to have ago and this nis what I came up with.

I used some of the lovely Echo Park papers which were perfect for Basil's walk in the park!

On wednesday evening I took part in another of Kirsty's online crops. I really loved the sketch and as usual you could just do the sketch or do the product challenge or of course combined the two.

This layout worked out so well using some fab photos of Sandie my lovely Daughter getting some photos at Folly Farm Pembrokeshire back in July and using Cosmo Cricket papers and chipboard diecuts.

Well I now have to get my scrapping gear and photos ready for the Autumn Workshop Sandie is doing on the 2nd October and I am really looking forward to it. We are combining this with a family visit and we are travelling to Burford on wednesday to stay with Hubby's sister. So I need to get on and get things organised.

Wednesday Cyber Crop!

There was more fun to be had on wednesday when Kirsty did another cyber crop. There was another great sketch and also another option if you didn't want to do the sketch, or you could combined the two. I decided that I would just do the sketch.

Option 2 - Choose 5 products in a layout style of your choice

I decided to turn the sketch as I thought it suited my photo better.

I just love this photo of Hubby and his friend Des who has lived inAmerica since he was 17 and now lives in Florida. . They lived next door to each other as kids but have kept in touch over the years. So it was a great time to really catch up when Des and his wife Easter came to the UK for a holiday and they spent the Bank Holiday with us.

I took part in another of Kirsty's Cyber Crop Challenges on wednesday evening and it was another fun eveningwhich I really enjoyed. My Daughter Sandie was also doing it again so that made it all the more fun. This time Kirsty did a Ustream doing her layout but unfortuanately I missed this but it would have been fun to watch her at work but I daresay I wouldn't have got mine done in time as I would have been glued to the screen watching her. lol!!!!

It was another fab sketch and I chose to turn it to suit the photos I used. I took these back in June when I was staying with Sandie and we paid a visit to Butterfly world at the Studely Grange Garden Centre, Swindon. These lovely Otters we a bit shy to come out at first but one of the staff members came a called them and out they came and performed for us.

Well I am back as promised with my layout for Liz over at My Little Sketch Book This is my third and last layout for Liz and I have so enjoyed working with her as I really love her sketches. This sketch was no exception the only thing I changed was I used just one photo instead of three.

Well I have to tell you I am so excited. On Wednesday Sandie suggested to me that we both take part in a cyber crop hosted by Kirsty and I have to say I thought it was a great idea. As Sandie and I live nearly 200 miles apart we don't get to scrap together very often so we thought this would be the next best thing.

So anyway this is the layout I did for the crop and it is Hubby's friend and his wife when they payed us a visit all the way from Florida on the Bank holiday weekend and we had a walk round the Abbey ruins in our village.

It was such a fun challenge and it was great to think that Sandie was doing it too. You can see her layout on Kirsty's blog here and guess what, Kirsty did a random draw and I was lucky enough to win. So as you can imagine I can't wait to get my prize.

Journaling Challenge - Sketches {by Tamara}

Yes this weeks challenge over at Sketches {by Tamara} is a journaling one and it comes from Karen one of the Design Team.

Journal about your vacation: More than who, what, where and when. But your thought about the vacation or a funny event during the vacation.

Well my vaction this year was a visit to the family and the photo I have chosen is one of me & Hubby with three of our gorgeous gandchildren. Sadly we just don't see them enough for my liking and I really want to move back to be nearer them but with the economy such as it is it wont be any time soon. Still enough of that here is my layout.........

We did see them again in July when they came this way on their holidays and we met up with them at Folly Farm in Pembrokeshire. A great time was had by all especially at the indoor fun fair. So I just had to do a layout of it.

I used some more of the bright and funky Bo Bunny Sun Kissed papers for this layout and made some fun pin wheels too.

Well that's it from me this week off to finish a mini book I am doing for a Birthday gift.....hope they like it!

Card Sketch -Sketches {by Tamara}

This weeks challenge at Sketches {by Tamara} is a lovely card sketch. Loved this one and will be sure to use it again.

The Dt did some gorgeous cards using this sketch so be sure to pop over to the blog and have a look and get inspired to makes some cards for yourselves.

Also this week I have done a layout using some fab Bo Bunny sunkissed papers. The photo of Hannah on her bike has had some photoshop treatment by hubby and he put some motion blur behind her. He is not really happy with it but it was much better than I could do and I love it. lol!!!

It was a real fun layout to do and the papers were just perfect for this photo taken back in August 2008. Must look throught the photos again and use some more of these papers they are really so bright and funky just right for summer photos.

Sorry I am a bit late with the latest challenge from Sketches {by Tamara} This week it is a recipe challenge set by Joan one of the design team.

This is what I came up with.......

The picture is of a Great Horned Owl called Desmond that we saw when we went to the Cotswold Falconry Centre in Moreton in Marsh Gloucestershire back in June.

Now I am not sure if you know but Upsy Daisy have a Design Team call out at the moment and you can get all the info HERE so why don't you have ago at it . I have sent in three layouts of mine....not holding my breath though as I am sure they will be alot more talented peeps entering than me. But hey you have to have ago don't you?

These are the layouts I have sent they don't have to be new ones but using Upsy Daisy papers will help.I do love the clean lines of their papers and I feel they suit my style of scrapping. Really love some of the new stuff that has just been released. I couldn't get any of their other products here in the UK but did manage to get some papers.

Well after a lovely sunny day yesterday the rain seems to have returned Blaahh!! So I am off to do some much needed housework before I dare start scrapping again. Thanks as always for taking the time to stop by.

I am not sure where the the time goes it's now August and summer seems to have deserted us. It's grey skies and drizzley rain just lately with the odd bit of sunshine if whe're lucky.

Anyway I have been scrapping away but I need to take some piccys which I will get round too soon.

In the mean time it's that time of the week when the latest challenge from Sketches {by Tamara} is up. This week it's a Layout Sketch and this has to be a real favourite of mine. I am sure I will use this one again.

I used some wonderful Basic Grey Marrakech papers and stickers. I just love these. I must get them out again and use them some more.

Yes it's that time againover at Sketches {by Tamara}. This week it's a journaling challenge set by me and it is to journal on a tag. Easy peasey!!!

This is my layout

I used one of Hubbys photos again. I just loved the way the heron was balanced on the branch of this fallen tree.

I must admit to not having done much scrapping this week my time has been taken up with sorting out my new (secondhand) laptop. It has been giving me a few problems to say the least but I think I am getting there now. Not having a desktop has saved me so much more space and my craft room looks a lot tidier now as I have had a good sort out and a move around of a few things.

Hopfully I can get back to doing some scrapping from now on.

What has happened to the weather???

After those wonderful weeks of sunshine all we are getting now is rain, rain and more rain. The rest of the week forcast rain yet again. It really gets to me and I seem to lose the will to do anything. Mind you I have been playing with some Distress Inks and watching some tutorials on them But not sure I like anything I have produced so far. Maybe I need more practice and the right sort of stamps.

But I can share with you the latest challenge from Sketches {by Tamara}. This week it is a card sketch and I chose to make an Easel Card.

I love making these and I found the tutorial over at Split Coast Stampers If you haven't already made one of these you should have ago. They are really easy and just a little different.

Sorry I am late with this but we are visiting family in the Cotswold and I have manage to prize hubby's laptop off of him for a few minutes lol!!!!

I chose to scrap a picture of an Orange tipped Butterfly that Hubby manage to capture on camera a few weeks ago and I varied the color of some of the words of my journaling.

We will be traveling back home tomorrow after a lovely week with family. I manage to spend a few lovely days with Sandie and even managed to do one of her classes at Sparkle Dreams. I will share this with you when I get back home and sorted out.

Well it doesn't look much like itas I look out of the window ayt the rain coming down, but it is the latest challenge over at Quirky Crafts. So you can do whatever it is you do Crafty wise as long as it says Summer.

Start Me Up is a fairly new Challenge Blog and I just love the latest challenge. It's fine a colour combo you find difiult to work with and the DT did Black & White and male. So I thought I would have ago at this and do the same. I don't often do Black & White without another colour so this quite new for me. I have to say I rather enjoyed doing it and this is what I came up with.

I took this photo of Hubby while we were out for a lovely walk through the woods with the dog. I used lots of my scraps to do this layout, some stamps and even a sizzix die I haven't used in years.

Yes it's that time again over at Sketches {by Tamara} and this week it is a layout sketch and what a fabulous sketch it is too. It was perfect for me to scrap one of the lovely old pics I have of hubbies family. This one is his sister Christine.

My Little Sketch Book & Quirky Crafts

I was really thrilled to be Guest Designer again this week for Liz over at My Little Sketch Book Liz's sketches are so easy to work with they just seem to work so well for me. This weeks sketch was right up my street for the photo's I wanted to useof our walk to Ceibwr (cayber).

Now I must also let you know that over at Quirky Crafts we have a new challenge and this one is Girly Girl and I am sure you will be able to come up with something for this. I have done a layout of my gorgeous granddaughter Hannah and believe me she is a true girly girl. But as always it doesn't have to be a layout , it can be a card, an ATC or maybe an altered item. Anyway this is my layout and I used some gorgeous Crate Paper 'Paper Doll' for this.

Yes that's the new challenge over at Quirky Crafts Blog and the DT came up with some fabulous work so do pop over and have alook and why not challenge yourself as well. We would love to see what you come up with.
I made a font recess card and I found a tutorial for it over at Split Coast Stampers. I am sure I have mention this site many times before but so worth a look.

I have made a couple more cards as well using this fab new stamp set I bought. I think I will have real fun using these.

Here is what I've made so far. The red one is a design I found in the Split Coast Stampers Gallery and I am really sorry I can't remember who's. But thank you I love your design.

Still Spring Cleaning

Yes I am still working on the house and garden trying to get loads of jobs done outside while the weather is still good.
But I have managed to do a layout and make a couple of cards with the left over paper and some of the chipboard embellies.

I used some Crate Paper Brook for this layout it just seemed right for the photos of Mrs Chaffinch with her beak full of feathers.

Just a couple more cards for my collection now pretty simple ones I know but I'm glad I manage to get a few cards made now ...very useful when birthdays etc crop up.lol!!!

I must just remind you that the Quirky Crafts challenge, Planes, trains and Automibles is still running until 8pm on sunday so still plenty of time to enter.

I know I haven't been about much of late but I have been taking advantage of the lovely weather we have been having and have spent time trying to get the garden in some sort of order after having some alterations to our entrance.

I have manage some scraping though but have been working on DT work and I can't share these with you yet.

But I can share my card for Quirky Crafts new Challenge 26 that went live last evening. This one is Trains, Planes and Automobiles and our sponser is Limited Runs Stamps again and Nikki let us use some more of her digital stamp.

GDT and QC Challenge

I am so thrilled to be a Guest Designer ay My Little Sketch Book this week. Liz does some amazing sketches so I was over the moon to be one of her Guest Designer. The sketch this week was just perfect for some of Hubby's Wildlife photos.

This is what I did with it. I used some gorgeous Websters Pages that really suited my photos and the sketch really well.

Also yesterday was the start of a new challenge over at Quirky Crafts challenge Blog this is challenge #25 and the lovely Lyn has done a sketch. Now you can use this to make anything you like, card layout ATC whatever you like doing The challenge runs for two weeks so plenty of time for you to come up with some ideas.
Now our Sponser for April is the very talented Nikki at Limited Runs Stamps and the DT have worked their magic with her designs.

Well I am not sure what's come over me as I have been making more cards this week. I have been working on a layout too but I can't share that with you yet, so watch this space.

I thought I would join in with the March Card Challenge over at My Creative Scrapbook and I have made three cards this weekend.
My first one is a Tri Fold Shutter card. This is the first time I have made one of these so it did take me a while.

Then I thought I would have ago at an Easel Card and I loved doing this one as it wasn't as difficult as I first thought.

Finally I made a Bookmark Card. I thouht this was perfect for my friend who loves to read.

Well I think I have quite a good stock of cards now but I am sure I will be making more of these with my scrapping scraps.

Yes I would like to say a huge thank you to all those lovely people that voted for me in the Ingredients Challenge over at Created by ATDML and thanks to you all I won a £10 shopping voucher with ATDML This I have to say has put a big smile on my face after a very stressful and depressing week.

Next I must let you know that we have a new challenge at Quirky Crafts and for the next two weeks the challenge is FLOWERS. Now come on you can all create something using flowers. Our sponser is Crafty Ribbons and the winner will get 3 bags of wonderful ribbons so well worth ago.
The DT created some great cards and our Guest Designer Dawn produce some fabulous work be sure to check it out here.

This is the layout I created for the flower challenge and is a fantastic pic of my gorgeous Granddaughter on here fifth birthday. I made some cardstock roses which are so easy and fun to make.

The only other crafty thing I have done this week is to make a card using a freebie digi image from Cheeky Radish that was on the Paper Popsicles blog I thought this was such a cute image I had to have ago. I wont tell you how many attempts I had at colouring this and I'm still not happy with it.

I can't really justify the Copics that everyone seems to rave about and had to rely on my old water colour paints.

Firstly I am Guest Designer this week over at Sketches (by Tamara). Tamara did a fabulous card sketch for this week and I had real fun working with it. this is the sketch and the cards I made with it.

My next bit of news is I was asked by Mel over at Created By ATDML to take part in an Ingredients Challenge along with two other ladies. This was great fun and had some lovely Scenic Route papers to work with. This is my effort.

So what else have I been doing....well I have been working on a layout for the next challenge over at Quirky Crafts which goes live on the 21st but the Button challenge is still going on till then so be sure to have ago.

Well I have had a good week for crafting some of which I cannot show you as yet. First though I want to draw your attention to Sketches (by Tamara) there is a call for March Guest designers but you have only to tomorrow (tuesday 2ndMarch) to enter.
It's a recipe challenge and this is what I have done to include Paint (white paint splashed on cardstock) chipboard and staples. Not sure that the paint shows up too well though!

Now apart from that I have been making some cards. Yes I know shock horror as I don't really make cards anymore, but I have decided that I must try and make some with the left over bits from my layouts.

Okay so there are not brilliant but I am happy that I've made cards again. Now like I said I have been working a couple more layouts and I will show you a sneaky peek of one of them.

Before I go I will remind you tha the 'Cute' challenge over at Quirky Crafts is still running until Sunday the 7th so still plenty of time to enter.

It's been a while!

Sometimes there doesn't seem much to blog about but today I have some things to share. Firstly the sun is shining although it is bitterly cold but I can cope with that. The sunshine always makes me feel so much better.

Next I must let you know that challenge 22 is now up and running over at the Quirky Crafts Blog and this time it is Gez that has set the challenge and it's 'CUTE'. The DT have done some amazing examples so check them out here.Our Guest Designer Katie did an amazing job too. This challenge is still being sponsered by The Cutting Cafe and the winner get three free downloads so what are you waiting for.

For my Cute layout I used a sketch by Liz Qualman and it was the sketch from January 24th and it was just perfect for the lovely photos of Hannah.

My other layout is also another of Liz's sketches and it's for the February sketch challenge over at My Creative Scrapbook Another sketch using more than one photo. I have to say this is good for me as I do tend to do mostly one photo layouts.

I used some more of Hubby's wild life photos taken on the river a stonethrow away from where we live.

Well I think that's it from me except to say I have made my first ATC's for a swap over at The Quirky Craft Forum and I have to say I know they are pretty basic but I did enjoy making them and might be tempted to have another go. We had to use just things from our scrap book.

What a week!!

I guess I had better start with the new challenge over at the new Quirky Craft Challenge blog. The next fornight it is Fe's Valentine/foreign challenge. hope you will join in with us. This is Hubby and me back in 1993 on a winter break in Torquay at the Grand Hotel. We had a really fantastic time.

So what else has happened this week....well I was lucky enough to win a fabulous RAKover at Kimmy's Blog and it turns out to be a brilliant Scrapmuse kit.

How fantastic is that. Not only that but I won the Liz's sketch Challenge over at MCS with this layout of Basil.

Needless to say I was really pleased with that. Now as for getting anything else done this week it has been a bit of a chore as I very cleverly fell and hurt my back. How did I do it.....well I had put my walking boots on to go out with Bas and somehow or other I was standing on the laces as I tried to put my foot up on the chair to do them up (too fat to bend down.lol) and bang I went backwards and hit my back on the table we have in the porch and them landed bang on my bum!! well did I feel silly and I have been suffering ever since. So what with me hobbling about and Hubby having a bad attack of gout the poor dog hasn't been getting any really long walks. But hey ho I am sure things will get better soon.

Anyway I am off now to have a hobble round the village so Bas can have his walk. Thanks for stopping by see you soon. x

I've scrapped!!!!

Yes I have finally manage to do two layouts. I now have a printer up and running so I can print off my photos so I am now happy.

I have been doing a couple of the sketch challenges over at My Creative Scrapbook you should take a look at the fabulous kits they do and what the DT do with them. Wow they are so inspiring. With the exchange rate these days I can no longer afford the kits but hopfully will be able to again one day. Anyway the sketch I did was my the lovely Liz have a look at the sketches on her blog.

Photos of our gorgeous little Jack Russell Basil who never fails to make us laugh and does his best to keep us fit with plenty of walking.

The other layout is a sketch by Julie Bonner and I love the sketch she has done and there is still time to enter this one up to the 6th Feb if you fancy having ago.

Hubby does get some fabulous wildlife photos so it great to be able to scrap some of them. I just hope I do them justice.

Just a quicky!

Just a quick post to let you know that the latest challenge is up and running over at Quirky Crafts and this time it's Deanne's challenge and it's Teddy Bears. I have to say Deanne this did give me food for thought as I don't have any teddy stamps or anything so after alot of thought this is what I came up with.

My Birthday Book.

Inside the front cover I have a list of birthstone

Each of the inside pages has two months on them

Inside the back cover I have list of wedding anniversaries.

I used some 6x4 beer mats that I sneaked away from my local pub. lol!! and basic grey cup cake papers to cover them with.

Anyway hope you will join in the challenge as Debbie at the Crafty Pad is sponsering again for this challenge so you could be winning a couple of her gorgeous stamps.

Nothing much to share!

Sorry but I haven't been doing much on the scrapping front. Apart from getting some house things done I haven't been able to print off any photos. My Epson printer has given up the ghost...it didn't like the compatible inks |I used in it and I think it completly blocked the nozzles up. So I thought well I will get my trusty old Canon out of the cupoard. Wow the inks for that have gone up some since I last used it. Anyway thought I would try compatables with this one. First lot just printed everything out with a purple hue. So they have gone back for a refund. Ordered some proper inks from Amazon but they haven't arrived yet but in the meantime tried some more compables from another company and they arrived today.....faulty the colour ink isn't soming out at all. Argh!!!!! Hopefully Amazon will deliver tomorrow and I can get going again.

Anyway I have not been too idle craft wise and have been making some cardstock roses with my 6petal punch.

Gabi has done a great tutorial for this over at My Creative Scrapbook and I think hers look alot better than mine.

Now I must remind you that the Yellow challenge is still up and running over at Quirky Crafts and there is a prize of two stamps from The Crafty Pad so well worth having a go for!

Another week gone by!

How have you all been coping with this weather? I have to say we haven't had it as bad as most although the forcast is for more snow on Tuesday. I think I have had enough of slipping and sliding about and can't wait for it all to go.

But I suppose it has given me time to sort out my scrap room and to do some scrapping so I guess that's the plus side of it all.

First of all I must remind you that the challenges are up and running again over at Quirky Crafts and this time it's Anne's challenge which is "Yellow" and for this I did a layout.

You have until Sunday the 24th to do this challenge and there will be a a prize of two stamps from The Crafty Pad so well worth entering. Remember it can be anything you like card, layout ATC altered item you name it.

Well apart from the challenge I have been playing with some sketches. The first one is Prima's December sketch which I loved.

This photo is of my SIL with her Dad back in 1938 or there abouts. I have to say I didn't use Prima papers for this as I didn't have any but used some of the lovely Kaiser Dutchess range which I thought suited the photo rather well.

The last layout I have to share with you is a Julie Bonner Sketch. Julie does some gorgeous sketches and you should pop over to her blog and have a look.

Used a panoramic photo that Hubby took out of our window just before Christmas. I had ago with my new Martha Stewart round the page puch and have to say I didn't get it quite right but I didn't want to waste the cardstock so I still used it. So you will have to forgive me for that. lol!!

I hope you all have a healthy and a happy one with everything you wish for coming true. As for resolutions I can't honestly say I have made too many other than the usual I hope I can lose some weight this year and to try and use up the stash I have and not keep buying more. Although I have to say I have improved with that one anyway.

I am hoping that we will move house this year too but we will have to wait and see what happens there.

As far as the scrapping goes I do have a layout to share with you. It's of Hubby when he was in the Army Cadets at his school circa 1959/60.

Ha ha he looks so little....bless! I have done another layout but it is for a challenge later this month over at

Quirky Crafts and I hope you will come and join us there. I know Deanne is getting some sponsers lined up so it will be worth having ago. Anyway here is a sneak peek at what I have been doing.

Long time no blog!!!

Sorry I haven't been around much of late what with Hubby not being too good and Christmas I think it has sapped all my inspiration for scrapping.
Glad to say hubby is now feeling alot better and Christmas is now done and dusted except for some baking and house cleaning to be done today I can hopefully get back into being creative.lol.

One thing I do have to share with you though is my layout for my post over at It's a Creative World I used some of my December kit from The Craftz Boutique some gorgeous Websters pages and lots more besides.

The photo is from the snow we had back in February. We don't get alot of snow here in West Wales and thankfully we have only had a very small about this time, but it is very cold and frosty at the moment. Still I guess that is seasonal so I mustn't complain.

I would also like to let you know that we are taking a break over at Quirky Crafts but we will be back on January 10th with a new challenge. I know Deanne has lots of new things lined up for next year so I hope will come over and join us then.

Yes it's getting nearer and nearer, I just don't know where the time is going. I have spent most of this week making some christmas cards. I know I don't like making cards anymore but felt the need to do some. Not that they are very special but at least I made the effort.

I doubt I will be making any more though lol!! I really need to get back to my beloved scrapping again.

Now over at Quirky Crafts challenge #18 is now up and running and it's Cazzy challenge this time and it's "Christmas" so a nice easy one for everyone to get invovled in. Hope you will play along. The Design Team came up with some great ideas. This is my exploding box I did for the challenge.

I really enjoyed making this little box and thought it was a really nice way to preserve some christmas memories.

Another week gone by!

Christmas is fast approaching and I haven't done a thing towards it as yet. Well I daresay I will get there in the end.

On the crafting front I can now share my layout I did for IACW . I took my inspiration form this picture.

and this is what I came up with......I loved the colours and the cushions made me think squares and so the design came together. The photo is my Sister in Law when she was round about 6 (we think).

Now I do have quite a few birthdays in December so I thought it about time I got back into a bit of card making. Nothing elaberate mind but make some I did. lol.

This afternoon found me doing a quick layout for a sketch challenge over at My Creative Scrapbook using a great sketch by Liz Qualman. I suddenly realised it was the last day today but wanted to have ago.

This gorgeous picture of a baby robin was taken by hubby back in the spring and we thought he looked quite glum. Ah bless!!!

I am sure we are all fed up with this awful weather we have been having and there doesn't seem to be any let up to it either.But I have to say compared to the people of Cumbria we have been really lucky and my heart goes out to them.

As for my scrapping I have done yet another layout of Basil being just a little bit cheeky. lol.

I just love that picture of him Andy just clicked the shutter at the perfect moment. Something else I have been doing is a layout for my post over at It's A Creative World which will go live on Wednesday. But here is a little sneak peek.

Now before I forget Challenge 17 is on over at Quirky Crafts Forum and this time it is A sketch by Lyn.

And this is what I did with it.

I just love that cute little snowman stamp and sure it will get used alot if I every get round to making any Christmas cards. lol!

Now don't forget you can do anything with this sketch it doesn't have to be a card and if you pop over to the Quirky Crafts forum you can see what the rest of the Design Team have done.

My mojo is definitely returning as I have managed two layouts this week as well as a challege for Quirky Crafts that will go live next sunday the 22nd. Can I also remind you that my Masculine Challege is still live until then and I am really hoping that there will be more entries by then. As always Deanne puts up a small prize for the winner so what have you got to lose??

Anyway back to my layouts :) The first one is the gorgeous photo that Hubby took of an Otter with her cub.

I used an old Pencil Lines sketch (59) for my inspiration for this, not that it looks too much like it now.

The other layout I've done is a Julie Bonner Sketch (33) over at 52 sketches if you haven't already been there I think you should as Julie does some really lovely sketches.

We think this photo is about 1972 and is of Hubby's nephews with a realy large catch of fish and you can tell by their faces they are really happy with their day!

I have noticed that I seem to be using quite alot of Basic Grey lately but I do love the latest lines of theirs.

Well that's about it really the weather has been pants yet again we have had some really heavy rain and lots of it, coupled with some really big gusts of wind. Thankfully today has been quieter and after a morning of rain the afternoon has been quite pleasant.

Christmas raffle

Deanne is running a Christmas Raffle over at Quirky Crafts Forum and amongst the prizes is a Cuttlebug machine. You have until December 10th to get your ticket that will cost you £2 can't be bad can it with such a fab prize up for grabs. There is also lots more goodies too and Deanne is constantly adding to them. Wouldn't it be fab to have that under the tree this year??

This week sees the start of my challenge over at Quirky Crafts and this week it is Create a project with a Masculine Theme' I think it is so easy to make cards and ATCs all pretty and girly but men need cards too. Not that it is restricted to cards and ATCs so how about a layout of a male member of the family or like me you could make a little mini book about their hobby. Mine is a little book about my Hubby and his friend on a fishing trip back in the 1980s.

Hubby was really pleased that I had done this for him too, so what are you waiting for. There will be a prize up for grabs and I am sure Deanne will get it up on the forum as soon as she can.

Now apart from this I have made a layout of Hubbys Mum & Dad. It's a fabulous photo taken back in the early 1930s and we think it was before they were married in 1935. Sadly I never knew them as they had passed away before I met Andy but it still wonderful to be able to scrap the memories for him.

I used some of the lovely November kit that I got from Craftz Boutique and I think their kits are really good value for money and no I am not part of team or anything.lol. Just like to give credit where credit is due.

Urgh!!! It's getting very wintery!

Well we have had loads of rain and very gusty winds and it is getting more like winter every day now.Maybe time to batten down the hatches and get some more scrapping done.

I have a couple of things to share with you this week. A layout inspired by the lovely autumnal trees in the village. Walking out with Basil (dog) last week I thought how beautiful everything looked so managed to get a few pics on my phone as I hadn't taken my camera with me, but considering that they didn't come out too bad.

The other thing I have done is a little photo wallet made out of one sheet of 12 x 12 paper. I can't claim it as my idea but got this from Stamping Holly on youtube. Well worth a look and I thought it might make a lovely little gift for Granny at Christmas. This one is going to a very special Aunt of mine.

There is loads of room for some journalling and more embellishments too, but I guess they will need to be pretty flat as it needs to fold up. Perfect for carrying around in your handbag.

Now I am really pleased to say that I have been scrapping again and I have done a layout this week . Hurrah!! I think my mojo is returning. I used the October kit from The Craftz Boutique it is love BG Ambrosia papers and I love it.

Also over at IACW all this month it has been Christmas projects and there have been some really inspiring ideas. I managed a Christmas layout. Quite a simple one as I have to say I was feeling a little mojoless at the time. lol.

Do you like the new Blog layout?? I love it and I want to say a BIG thank you to my lovely friend Deanne who has done this for me. I really appreciate her time and effort.

Not much else happening here my shoulder is now much improved and I am starting to think about scrapping again which has to be a good sign.

I am really feeling down this week and can't seem to get my act in gear at all. Whatever I seem to turn my hand to it all goes wrong and to be honest I haven't felt very inspired to do anything. I did get a bit carried away and decided to take down the nets in the bedroom and clean the windows and that has resulted in a pulled muscle in my shoulder. I am in total agony and find it very difficult to get any sleep at all. I bought some heat patches today and will try one of those tonight to see if it helps.

Anyway apart from that I must tell you about Quirky Crafts Forum challenge 14 that went live on Sunday. This one is Halloween or Autumn whichever takes your fancy. Remember it can be any project you like, card, layout, ATC or altered art project, you name it we would love to see it. As always there is a little RAK to be won. You have until 8pm on October 25th to enter the winner being annouced on Monday 26th. Do pop over and see what the DT have done to inspire you.

I did a Halloween layout of my lovely Granddaughter in her Halloween outfit last year. I used some lovely BG ambrosia PP and some halloween die cuts.

Challenge 13

I am really late putting this up as I have been away but it still has a week to run so plenty of time for you to take part. Anyway Challenge 13 over at Quirky Crafts is Out and About. The DT have done some fab examples for you to see. I am afraid mine wasn't very inspired as I just did an Autumn Tree which I suppose is out and about but not very exciting. lol.

As I said I have been away visiting the family which was great. Managed to get to do two of Sandie's classes. One at the North Swindon Craft Club, I had a really fab evening and this is what I did.

Really old photo of my two SIL's back in 1959/60 we are not sure the exact date. The other class I did was a lovely little accordian album. But I did it for my SIL with some lovely old pics of the family and gave it to her but stupidly I didn'y take a photo of it. Two really good classes so many thanks Sandie!

Well that's all I have to share with you at the moment, need to get into scrapping gear again and I am sure it wont take me long. So thanks for stopping by I'll be back soon.

We are off to stay with Andy's Sister and BIL's for a week and while we are there I will fit in a visit to Sandie's so that I can do a couple of classes she is teaching. One at the North Swindon Craft club on Friday evening and the other on Tuesday at Sparkle Dreams. So I am really chuffed I will get some scrapping in as well.

I have managed to finish my BIL's 6x6 album of his 80th Birthday so I can take that with me and give it him. Just hope he likes it.

Now apart from all this my post over at It's A Creative World goes live today. I have done more sketches this month and have chosen a sketch from My Sketch World which I thought was perfect for the photo I had in mind.

The other sketch was from Pink Sketches I found this just blog hopping as you do and I loved this sketch and again it was just right for my photos.

Well I am going to get off now and enjoy my little holiday. I will be back next wednesday so will catch up with you all then.

This week has flown by and I have been enjoying the lovely sunshine and I am really hoping to goes on a bit longer.

Firstly I must tell you that a new challenge has gone live over at Quirky Crafts Forum and this week it is "Vintage". The Design Team have been busy as ever and have done some great examples to inspire you.So make sure you pop over and have a look.
I altered a little box that I have had for a long time and made it into a little keepsake box.

I also finished my BIL's 80th Birthday album but I have yet to take some photos of it as well as doing a couple of layouts for my DT work over at IACW but you will have to wait to see those.

I did get inspired to do some baking this week as well but only because I had some very sad looking bananas left in the fruit bowl, so I made some Banana Bread.

Not much else to report at the moment but I will leave you with some wonderful pics that hubby took of a otter with her baby that he saw yesterday.

Sorry we were a bit late with the new challenge over at Quirky Crafts as poor Fe wasn't feeling too good yesterday. Glad to say she is feeling a bit better today. Anyway the challenge this week is one by Deanne and the challenge was Board Game. Well that did make me think abit and I have to say the DT came up with some cracking ideas. I did a layout of Sandie playing Snakes and ladders with her Uncle Len when she was about 5 or 6.

The winner of last week challege was Caz and she will be getting her goodies soon. Well done Caz!

The only other layout I have to share with you is one I've done of Hubby's Mum. We don't have many photos of her at all so I really wanted to scrap this one I found out the other day.

I am busy trying to complete a 6x6 album of my BIL's 80th birthday party, but will share this later.

Other than that I have been jam making. My friend gave me a load of damsons and I thought I would have ago at making jam with them and I have to say it turned out well. Really tasty! Yumm!!

We had a little trip down to the beach yesterday as the weather was gorgeous and we wanted to make the most of it. Baz loved mooching around and climbing the rocks.

The winner will be picked by a member of the Design Team and this is what you could win.

There is a handmade notebook some new stamps from The Crafty Pad as well as a bag of mixed media goodies.

This was the card I made for this weeks challenge 'Rough & Smooth'

Now apart from this I managed to do a layout for Andy's fishing album. I am gradually scrapping his fishing photos. This one is Andy's friend Jon sitting waiting for a bite feeling very 'content' puffing away on his cigarette. lol.

I have been working on a few more things but I can't share them with you yet.
